3 Foolproof Ways to Keep Your Heart Fired up to Write about Web Content

As I look for an inspiration to write, most especially about web content, I try thinking about what readers would often ask about the web content writing niche. With my hands tired of clicking the mouse last night, ideas kept on buzzing through my ears (yet my hands have been unable to type just one key). Yet with my desire to keep the fire burning, I just stood still with my word (which is to produce content for my blog consistently). Thus, here are nine of my most recommended tips for the web content writer who wants to step a notch off the writer’s block.

1.   Fly (Just like Peter Pan).

Flying won’t hurt. Just try. Keep your mind healthy by thinking of happy thoughts. When was the last time you smiled? Can you remember? What can you consider as the happiest moment in your life? Did someone compliment you today? Most importantly, do you still have your definite purpose intact with you? That, I believe, is one thing to be happy about.

2.    List, list, list.

I guess this tip is best for those who are obsessed partly with organizing, but it works (at least for me and a friend initialed as J.A.). Try searching some books about creating checklists and you’ll see how this simple step of listing does work! As you see, it’s how the process of autosuggestion that’s taking over the mind during such system. Thus, whatever you envision of yourself through listing, you’ll most likely achieve (thanks to Sir Napoleon Hill’s works that I’ve learned about this).

3.   Invest on web content writing books.

Finally, to gear yourself towards writing web content further, it greatly helps if you also try to locate powerful reads to enhance your skills. Learn from those who have made it far in this niche. Did they practice that habit of polishing writing skills by reading more? Why not do this, too, my friend? You might just learn that most sought after technique to lure a thousand blog followers.

Giving Your Article Its Wings: How to Boost Your Article’s PR

Ever wondered how the circle of websites’ life make it to the top (at one point) and then down (at another)? How about articles that surge their way to 1,000 hits a day when another would just end up without any hit at all?

Me too, I’ve been curious with the factors affecting article PR when I started out writing blogs, website articles and the like. Nevertheless, in my search for the answers I found out about SEO and site importance.

First of all, when it comes to SEO, what I’ve realized is that one can benefit greatly with keywords. I’ll share more about this very important part of an optimized article later on (if you stick by my blog). Now to provide a glimpse of how keywords work, let’s put it this way. Since websites are searched through search engines through words we type, said simply, we would thus need the best keywords to fit the article’s purpose and audience. Note: audience and purpose go hand in hand. The article writer would have to consider these when writing.

Another part of the SEO tricks of the trade would then be the links. Talk about inbound links (those coming into the page), reciprocal links, internal links, and some other hilarious links Outspoken Media has crafted. :-)

On the other hand, aside from expert SEO techniques, writers would definitely have to consider writing, if not a really expert take on his subject, a very passionate write-up on his field. In this way, readers would indeed grasp the message with ease (more or less guaranteeing many returns).

After crafting the message, to give wings to articles, we will now search for article submission sites. One of my most favorite, Ezinearticles, is one of these directories to look into, by the way. Using these directories, we can place author bios containing blog/website urls, descriptions of who we are, and basically build up our publicity to the rest of the online world.

From there, once credibility has been established, we, as writers of web content, can savor the plentiful returns of efficient web branding.

Killer Blog Topics that Work: My List of General Topics for Writing

Watching the World Pass By
from http://www.flickr.com/photos/rachdavies/

In search of blog topics I can write about, I’ve decided to come up with an article to help myself determine the possible topics you might want to read about.  The following list contains a run-down of the general purpose of an article and will not deal much (for now) with the more specific content. If you have other suggestions for some general topics for a writing blog such as this one, feel free to comment.

The Human Interest Story

If I were to create another killer article soon, I’d really love that to be massive. Talk about lots of comments and everything, but then, how massive is massive? Lots of spamments, spammers, and link exchangers asking for cross links? Nope. I guess (and even Shakespeare would agree) that noteworthy blogs would have to be of huge interest to readers – and so I begin with the human interest story.

This article or blog post would really have to engage readers at first glance. Knowing that oftentimes readers only have 10 seconds to spare and 55 seconds more to understand your purpose (which I learned from the Entheos website), the blogger must be cautious of this.

Now how can a post be considered as interesting? Here are some points:

-      Must have that pizzazz
-      Must be original or “reimagined” (a term I discovered through Content Rules – more about this term through my later posts)
-      Must be reader-centered
-      Must be attention-grabbing (in a natural way)
-      Must excite readers

How-to Article

Lo and behold, how-to articles have always been one of the most recommended types of articles of all time. This may be why websites like ehow.com, instructables.com, SuTree.com, etc. have been popular nowadays.

With the various tips and techniques to do certain tasks, there’s no way this type of blog topic would run out of date (unless you’re a robot, of course). Just number up the techniques to do something and you’re set.

Featured Expert Article

One thing I’ve learned from Napoleon Hill (though I haven’t met him yet – and maybe that’s during my afterlife) about being successful in life is to follow the footsteps of someone who “has been there.” Thus, perhaps this principle also applies to writing.

To create that buzz, the writer can thus locate an expert in a particular field and form the questions for interview. Definitely, after letting the interviewee answer these questions, voila – you already have an article! This can be in a Q & A form, a dialogue format, or a narrative.

-------------------------------------------

After taking the time to think about these general types of articles, now, you, the writer, can then spread the article’s wings and share it with your future fans (which, by the way, is my next topic.)

The primary responsibility of a website writer is to produce content that will be used for site development. The job of a website writer is complicated and entails special skills that include creativity, patience, flexibility and first-hand knowledge about various topics.  This innovative person requires a deep knowledge of the elements of writing for the web and the perception of the requirements and anticipation of various types of users. The technical part is the capability to write for the so-called non-linear vehicle and the correct structuring of text so that it can easily be navigated on screen.

The website writer should be proficient with the fundamental rules in grammar, spelling and punctuation for the language that needs to be used in the site. In addition, part of the expectations of the profession includes adhering to instructions and standards as well as writing in a fitting manner. A website writer has to develop dexterity in coping with restrictions that may be set forth by the target medium and on the other hand, to seize the advantage of communications prospects that may suddenly be available. Some of the significant competencies are excellent copywriting and proofreading expertise, the capability to notice small details, time management and prioritization of tasks and working well under extreme pressure. This is the essence of what makes this creative person valuable to business institutions.
